Sadness in the court room
I had to suffer through jury duty today and it was heart-breaking to see our youths in terrible situations. You can look into their young faces and see the saddness and regret in their eyes. But sometimes in life it is too late to change the clock back. "If only I could have done this better" and so on........................
One positive thing that happend today was that I was able to donate the $15.00 daily expense money through the Generous Juror Program.

Info from the site:
Here is how you can help?If you are called for jury duty, just donate your $15 daily expense money to the Prince George's County Department of Social Services for children eligible to receive their services. It's a simple but meaningful gesture that will raise additional funds for vulnerable children each year. All donations directly benefit children and provide such things as school supplies, braces, special tutoring, recreational activities and other amenities available to most children but which the Department of Social Services is not able to provide through ordinary government funding. With your help, The Generous Juror Program will ensure that these needs are met.
It's easy to become a Generous Juror:On the first day of jury service, simply say yes by signing a form approving the donation and leave the form with the jury office staff. Your donation will automatically be processed.
For more information, call (301) 952-4385.
Generous Jurors is administered by the Prince George's County Department of Social Services, in cooperation with the Prince George's County Circuit Court.
