The 911 Surviving Tree

While visiting the  911 memorial, there was a tree tied down on the compound. For the life of me I couldn't understand why. (I thought  to myself ... not even NY can be sooo bad that they have to tie their trees to the ground I mean who will steal a tree? ) Well I had to ask one of the security guys.  He explained this was the only tree that survived the horrible ordeal that day.  So they took the tree to the Bronx to revitalize from the damage etc and brought it back to the memorial and tied it down so the WINDS not THIEVES wouldn't blow it away - very special.
